Jesus & Mary Convent English School Launches State-of-the-Art Robotics Lab to Shape Future Innovators

Jesus & Mary Convent English School launches a state-of-the-art Robotics Lab for Classes 1–8, introducing STEM, AI, coding, and hands-on innovation.

Innovation has always been at the heart of quality education. Taking another significant step towards preparing students for tomorrow’s world, Jesus & Mary Convent English School, Godda, proudly inaugurated its Advanced Robotics Lab on 19th August 2026, marking a new chapter in technology-driven learning.

Designed exclusively for students from Classes I to VIII, the Robotics Lab aims to transform conventional classroom learning into an engaging, hands-on educational experience where science, mathematics, coding, artificial intelligence, and engineering come together to inspire creativity and innovation.

The inauguration was followed by an interactive robotics seminar and live demonstration, where students witnessed exciting robotic models in action and explored the fascinating world of automation, programming, sensors, and intelligent machines. The session provided students with a glimpse of what they will be learning throughout the academic year and generated tremendous enthusiasm among young learners eager to build, code, and innovate.

Bringing STEM Education to Life

The newly established Robotics Lab has been developed in collaboration with STEMROBO, one of India’s leading STEM education platforms. Equipped with modern robotics kits, intelligent learning tools, and smart classroom facilities, the lab has been designed to provide students with practical exposure to emerging technologies from an early age.

Rather than limiting learning to textbooks, students will now apply classroom concepts through real-world projects, allowing them to understand how Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) work together to solve practical problems.

Through this initiative, students will learn that innovation is not merely about memorizing concepts but about applying knowledge creatively to design solutions for real-life challenges.

Building Future-Ready Skills

The Robotics Lab has been introduced with a clear vision—to prepare students for careers and opportunities that will define the future.

The comprehensive curriculum will enable students to explore:

  • Robotics Design and Construction
  • Coding and Programming
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Electronics and Sensors
  • Engineering Concepts
  • Automation
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Computational Thinking
  • Problem Solving
  • Creativity and Innovation
  • Teamwork and Collaboration

These essential twenty-first-century skills are becoming increasingly valuable across every profession and industry. By introducing students to these technologies from the primary grades, the school is ensuring that they develop confidence, curiosity, and critical thinking at an early age.

Integrating Science and Mathematics with Practical Learning

One of the most exciting aspects of the Robotics Lab is its ability to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

Students often wonder how mathematical formulas or scientific principles are used in everyday life. Through robotics, these concepts become meaningful and exciting.

Whether programming a robot to follow a path, using sensors to detect obstacles, or understanding motion and mechanics, students will experience how classroom lessons can be transformed into real-world applications.

This experiential approach not only strengthens conceptual understanding but also makes learning enjoyable and memorable.

Weekly Hands-On Robotics Classes

Robotics education has been integrated into the academic curriculum for Classes I to VIII and will be conducted every week.

Each session will provide students with opportunities to:

  • Build robotic models
  • Learn coding step by step
  • Program intelligent machines
  • Work on collaborative projects
  • Experiment with innovative ideas
  • Develop confidence through practical activities

The programme has been made compulsory so that every student receives equal exposure to emerging technologies regardless of their prior experience.

Modern Infrastructure for Meaningful Learning

The Robotics Lab has been thoughtfully designed to offer an engaging and interactive learning environment.

Key features include:

  • Smart Classroom Integration
  • Latest STEMROBO Robotics Equipment
  • Individual Student Workstations
  • Hands-on Project-Based Learning
  • Interactive Demonstration Space
  • Safe and Student-Friendly Learning Environment

These facilities ensure that every student can actively participate, explore ideas independently, and learn through experimentation.

Expert Guidance for Every Student

To ensure high-quality learning experiences, the Robotics programme will be conducted by the school’s trained faculty members.

Before the launch of the programme, teachers underwent specialized training conducted by robotics experts from STEMROBO, enabling them to effectively guide students through practical projects, coding activities, and advanced robotics concepts.

This combination of expert training and dedicated faculty ensures consistent, high-quality instruction throughout the academic year.

Inspiring Innovation from the Very Beginning

The inauguration programme was more than just the opening of a new laboratory—it was the beginning of a new educational journey.

Students actively participated in demonstrations, interacted with robotics models, observed coding activities, and experienced firsthand how technology can solve everyday challenges.

The excitement, curiosity, and enthusiasm displayed during the seminar reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing innovators rather than passive learners.

Watching robots respond to commands, perform programmed tasks, and interact with their surroundings sparked countless questions among students, making the event both educational and inspiring.

Preparing Students for National Competitions

The Robotics programme will also prepare students to participate in various robotics competitions, STEM challenges, science exhibitions, innovation contests, and coding events at regional and national levels.

These competitions will provide students with opportunities to showcase their creativity, collaborate with peers, and gain exposure beyond the classroom while developing confidence and problem-solving abilities.
